Analisis Kesalahan Siswa Dalam Memecahkan Masalah Matematika Berdasarkan Prosedur Newman

Abstract:

This study aims to determine the mistakes made by students in solving math problems based on the Newman procedure. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research was 3 students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Pleret in the academic year 2020/2021. The instrument includes 1 (one) problem-based question on the function material Data collection techniques through tests and interviews. The validity of the data was done by comparing data from the first subject with the second subject, then comparing data from the second subject with the third subject. Data analysis was carried out in 3 (three) stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that students made mistakes on indicators of comprehention, transformation, process skill and encoding.
