Hubungan Antara Pola Asuh Permisif Intensitas Pengunaan Media Sosial Dengan Engagement Pada Siswa Man 1 Kulon Progo

Abstract:

This study aims to determine the relations permissive parenting and the intensity use of social media with student engagement. The subjects used in this study were students of class XI in MAN 1 Kulon Progo with a total sample of 159 students. The method used in this research is quantitative method. Data collection methods used are the scale of student engagement, permissive parenting scale, and the intensity scale of social media use. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling technique. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression statistical analysis techniques, using SPSS 16 software for windows. The results of data analysis showed that the major hypothesis coefficient value is 0.391 with p 0.004 (p≤0,01) which means that there is a relationship that is very significant between permissive parenting and the intensity of the use of social media with student engagement. The results of the first minor hypothesis analysis showed that the correlation coefficient rxy = -0.270 with a significance level of 0.013 (p≤0,05) which means there is a significant negative correlation between permissive parenting with student engagement. The results of the second minor hypothesis analysis showed the correlation rxy = -0.351 with a significance level of 0.002 (p≤0,01) which means there is a negative correlation very significant between the intensity of the use of social media with student engagement. Based on this study it can be concluded that there is a very significant relationship between permissive parenting and the intensity of the use of social media with student engagement with an effective contribution of 15,3%.
