Pelatihan Mindfulness untuk Meningkatkan Subjective Well-Being pada Single Mother

Abstract:

The changes of marriage life circumtances, while a couple still together until they finally have to separate, usually bring psychological impact to single mother, which also influences the single mother in managing feelings and interpreting the life to find subjective well-being. The aim of this study was to find out the effect of mindfulness training in order to increase single mother’s subjective well-being. The method used in this study was preexperimental design with one group pre and post test. The subjects involved in this study were five single mother who had moderate level of subjective well-being criteria, single mothers with a divorce period of 1—11 years, the age 20—45 years, and having a child. The method of collecting data was subjective well-being scale. The method of data analysis used nonparametric statistical tests with Wilcoxon obtained a score of Z = -2.023 with p = 0.043 (p <0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that the result score, before and after the given training, is different. The post test score is higher than pre score. Based on these results, mindfulness training can be given to increase single mother’s subjective well-being.
