Kesalahan Ejaan pada Karangan Teks Cerita Fantasi Siswa Kelas VII MTs Muhammadiyah Bantul

Abstract: This research aims to describe and classify the forms of spelling errors contained in the text of fantasy stories of seventh grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Kasihan Bantul. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. The data collection process uses the observation method. The method used to obtain data is done by listening to language usage. The data collection techniques in this study used tapping techniques and advanced techniques of listening without speaking proficiently, data analysis methods using the equivalent method and using analytical techniques in the form of referential and autographical. The references used are the Big Indonesian Dictionary and the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling. The object of this research is in the form of words, phrases, and sentences that are in the text composition of fantasy stories of seventh grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Kasihan Bantul. The results of this study indicate that there are 66% errors in capital letters, 20% errors in writing elements, and 14% in the use of prepositions.
